How can one technology help address both energy access and clean cooking in off-grid communities?

In this webinar, Dr. Ing. Habil. Nihel Chekir (University of Gabès) will present how the LoCEL-H2 project is developing an innovative battery-electrolyser (“battolyser”) that combines battery storage with green hydrogen production.

Powered by solar energy, the system stores electricity when demand is high and converts surplus renewable energy into green hydrogen for clean cooking when demand is low.

The session will also share insights from LoCEL-H2’s pilot deployments in Zambia and Côte d’Ivoire, highlighting the importance of community engagement, affordability and designing technologies that meet local needs.
