Loughborough University’s work awarded at UKCC 2024
Our team member Dr Elizabeth Ashton from Loughborough University attended the 10th UK Catalysis Conference (UKCC) that took place in Loughborough, UK, from 3 to 5 January 2024.
Dr Ashton presented her research, part of the LoCEL-H2 project, through a poster titled ‘Green Hydrogen Production – Using a Combined Battery and Electrolyser.’ The focus of this work was on evaluating the catalytic effect of metal additives on hydrogen generation from lead-acid batteries when operated in a dual role as both a battery and an electrolyser.
Besides enjoying the opportunity to engage with fellow researchers, exchange ideas, and explore the latest advancements in catalysis, her contribution has been awarded with the prize for best poster. Dr Ashton said: “I am particularly honored to have been awarded a ‘Poster Prize’ for my contribution, recognising the significance of our work. Overall, the conference proved to be a valuable opportunity to showcase and discuss our research while gaining insights from the broader catalysis community.”
