Happy New Year from the LoCEL-H2 Team!
The LoCEL-H₂ team would like to wish all our supporters, partners and followers a happy New Year, with our very best wishes for 2026.
The end of 2025 was a busy and exciting time for the project. We wrapped up the year with the release of our 2025 newsletter, bringing together many of the key highlights from the second half of the year. Take a look at the December 2025 issue here:

The flurry of activity continued right through to the end of 2025, with the Loughborough University team attending PowerEx Live London, where they joined speakers and exhibitors from across the GENSET, CHP, data centre and consultancy sectors to discuss emerging trends and connect with industry colleagues. Dr Elizabeth Ashton presented a session titled ‘One Battery, Two Powers: Rethinking Lead Acid Batteries for Low Cost Green Hydrogen Production’.

Alongside this, partners from CEA-Liten and the Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) took part in the RISE EU–UK event, celebrating European research projects built on strong Franco–British collaboration. Hosted at The Royal Society, this was a fantastic opportunitiy to network with other innovative projects involved in science and technology and showcase the LoCEL-H2 project as an example.

Later in Decmeber, Professor Dario Minervini from University of Naples Federico II presented his new book, Socionature: Percorsi di sociologia dell’ambiente, featuring a conversation with Riley Dunlap and Luigi Pellizzoni. During the event, Professor Minervini reflected on the LoCEL-H₂ project and its Pakistan case study through the lens of the book’s theoretical framework, followed by an open discussion with the audience on the project’s pilot activities.
We will continue through the coming weeks with the third instalment of our Lunch and Learn webinar series, so stay in touch to learn more!
