We are thrilled to share that the LoCEL-H2 Project<\/a> team at Loughborough University<\/a> has been shortlisted for two international awards, recognising their work on the innovative battery electrolyser \ud83c\udfc6<\/p>\n<\/div>

The pioneering battery\u2011electrolyser system combines electrical storage, power supply and hydrogen production in one recyclable unit, delivering clean hydrogen without rare metals, membranes or expensive catalysts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Backed by \u00a312M funding and 20+ global partners, this innovation is already moving from concept to real-world deployment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The project has firstly been selected as a finalist for the Energy Institute<\/a>\u2019s International Energy Awards 2026, which celebrate organisations, projects and individuals demonstrating excellence across the global energy sector. The LoCEL-H2 Project<\/a> was shortlisted from more than 80 entries.

We have sice been shortlisted for the Hydrogen UK<\/a> Innovation Project Award 2026, which recognises projects that have made significant advances in hydrogen innovation over the past year and are helping to drive scalable, cutting-edge technologies.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
