Powering Adaptation: How Tiered Rural Electrification Supports Climate Resilience in the Global South<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

In this talk, we address how much improvement in energy access, based on the World Bank\u2019s Multi-tier energy access Tracking Framework (MTF), is needed to build climate resilience of vulnerable communities in the Global South. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

We will explore the benefits of decentralized microgrids with prosumer behaviour, and how such a system, as part of the LoCEL-H2 Project, can lead to climate adaptation and other benefits for vulnerable communities in the Global South.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

Reesha Arshad<\/strong> is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Electrical Engineering at LUMS. Reesha\u2019s research focuses on optimal sizing and socio-economic feasibility assessment of solar-powered distributed energy systems with prosumer power sharing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
