LoCEL-H2 presented at the IEEE SIU 2026 Conference, in Istanbul
We are pleased to share that members of the LoCEL-H2 consortium recently presented their latest research at the IEEE SIU 2026 Conference, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 7–10 July 2026.
Representing the University of Gabes, Yassine Ben Salem and Nihel Chekir showcased two research posters exploring the role of artificial intelligence and optimisation in the development of more efficient and sustainable energy systems:
– Power Flow Optimization in a Hybrid Microgrid Using Machine Learning
– Average-Case Benchmarking of Deep Learning Optimizers Under Energy and CO₂ Constraints: A Pareto-Based Analysis
These contributions demonstrate how advanced machine learning techniques can support the optimisation of hybrid renewable microgrids while balancing energy performance and environmental impact. Such research is highly relevant to the objectives of the LoCEL-H2 project, where intelligent energy management plays a key role in enabling reliable, low-cost and sustainable off-grid energy solutions.
Congratulations to our colleagues on representing the consortium and sharing their work with the international research community.
