The event brought together key stakeholders from across the research and innovation ecosystem, including representatives from the Presidency of the University of Gabes, the General Directorate of Scientific Research, coordinators of national and international scientific projects, research structure leaders, and higher education institutions from the Southeast region.

The forum provided an important opportunity for direct dialogue between researchers and supervisory authorities on mechanisms for supporting scientific innovation, while also encouraging the exchange of expertise and practical experiences between project coordinators.

As part of the programme, successful models of innovative scientific projects were showcased by the Project Management Unit (PMU) at the University of Gabès, highlighting collaborative approaches to research, sustainability, and technology deployment. Within the LoCEL-H2 Project, the University of Gabès plays a key role in the development of smart control systems and ecosystem monitoring for the project’s renewable microgrid and green hydrogen solutions. Through Horizon Europe support, the consortium continues to advance low-cost, circular and off-grid clean energy technologies designed to support remote communities with reliable electricity access and clean cooking alternatives.
