LoCEL-H2 Contributes to Global Solar PV Discussions at IEEE PVSC 54 in New Orleans, USA
We are pleased to share that the LoCEL-H2 project was represented at the 54th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC 54), held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
As part of the Special Session on Global PV Perspectives, Dr. Hassan Raza, PhD from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) presented an overview of the current status of solar photovoltaic deployment in Pakistan, highlighting key opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned through the LoCEL-H2 project.
The session brought together experts from around the world to discuss the evolving role of solar PV in supporting sustainable energy transitions across different regions. Dr. Khan’s presentation explored how insights from LoCEL-H2’s work on decentralised renewable energy systems, microgrids, and energy access can help inform future solar deployment strategies in emerging markets.
By sharing experiences from Pakistan and the LoCEL-H2 project, the presentation contributed to international discussions on how solar energy can be integrated with innovative storage and hydrogen technologies to support reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions for remote and underserved communities.
